As the man of the house, God has given you certain responsibilities that come with the role of being the head. The world defines the role of men as providers, protectors, teacher and disciplinarian, and leader of the family as a loving father and husband.

God expands the role to being a spiritual advisor to his wife (1 Corinthians 14:35) and children (Proverbs 22:6). This means the man must know God’s word to properly care for his family in mind, body and soul.

Many men think it’s all about being macho and being tough, but nothing shows more strength than fulfilling your role as spiritual leader of the family.

Many homes are broken today because the man is not fulfilling the role God gave him. Too many men today are not leading their household, in fact, too many men are not in the household to lead.

Being a man means to be responsible, not only for the physical household but also the spiritual. How can you lead if you don’t know what God has said? Take time to invest in your soul, as it is the only thing that will matter when it’s all said and done. Pick up the word and share the lessons with your family, so that they may live Godly lives.

It’s time for the real men of God to stand up!
